Woman Crashes SUV into the Home of Schuylkill County Sheriff

On Monday evening, a woman crashed her SUV into the home of the Schuylkill County Sheriff.


Around 9:45pm, a woman travelling West on Walnut Street in Ashland came to the intersection of 23rd and Walnut Street failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed one yard, then crashed into the home of Schuylkill County Sheriff Joseph Groody.

After crashing, the woman exited the vehicle, fled the scene and was later captured in the Gitman and Company parking lot a couple hundred yards away.

The woman was taken via ambulance to the hospital for further testing.

The family of Joseph Groody was home at the time, but no one was injured.

The incident is still under investigation.  More details when they are available.
