Teachers Start Project to Get Students "Fired Up About Literacy"

Two teachers started a project to help their students get "Fired Up About Literacy".
North Schuylkill High School teachers Melanie Fowler and Bonnie Leib recently started a Donors Choose Project in an attempt to get 33 Kindle Fires for their 7th and 8th grade reading/writing classes.

These are materials will help students achieve more in the classroom.

The project is called "Let’s Get Fired Up About Literacy!"

If you would like to donate to the project, please go to www.donorschoose.org, and enter the name “Melanie Fowler” for the project to appear.

The project went live at 6 am Thursday morning (Sept. 14th), and for 7 days, the company will double any donations (up to $50) made to the project.

Anyone wishing to donate should use the code “Liftoff” during the checkout process.

The overall goal is to raise $1,975 in order to purchase the target amount of Kindles.
