Man Shot By Police During Incident in Porter Township Thursday Afternoon

A man was shot by a Pennsylvania State Trooper on Thursday afternoon during an incident.

On Thursday, around 12:45pm, Pennsylvania State Police from Schuylkill Haven responded to a domestic altercation taking place at 109 N. Yohe Street, Porter Township.

When the trooper arrived, a female exited the residence bleeding from her head. 

After the female was laid down on the front grass, a male subject, only described as a 42 white male, exited the residence with a compound bow and arrow. 

The male pulled back on the bow and began raising at the Trooper who immediately fired his issued weapon as he sought cover. 

The male returned to his residence only to exit again and once again pull back on his bow and raise it toward the Trooper. 

The Trooper fired again at the male subject and struck him in the leg. 

Once the subject and his weapon were secured, the Trooper administered first aid until the arrival of EMS. 

The male subject was subsequently transported to Hershey Medical Center. Investigation to continue. 

Charges for Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, etc. are forthcoming.  The suspect's name was not released by Police.
