Marian P Brennan, age 101, of Providence Place, Pottsville, formerly of Barry Twp, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Providence Place.

She was born on Sunday, December 26, 1915, in Barry Twp, a daughter of the late Robert C Ludwig and the late Clara E Hoch Ludwig.

She was a 1933 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School and a graduate of Kutztown University.

Marian was an elementary teacher for the Tri-Valley School District, teaching at various Barry Twp elementary schools during her 40 year career.

She was a member of Christ's United Lutheran Church, Ashland and St. John's "Kimmel's" Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on the church council.

She was also a member of the former Weishample Grange, Tri-Valley Senior Citizens, and Schuylkill County Retired Teachers Association. As a youth she was very active in the 4H organization, and served as the state delegate to the National 4H Camp in Washington DC in 1935.

Marian was an avid quilter and enjoyed baking and traveling with friends and relatives. She was also known for playing a mean hand of Pinochle.

Her husband Jerome D Brennan passed away in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by four sisters Mildred Kimmel, Grace Ludwig, Esther Warcola, and Margaret Ludwig.

She is survived by a son, Daniel J Brennan and his wife Christine of Hamburg; two grandsons, Kristopher D Brennan of Hamburg and Michael J Brennan and his wife Sheena of Maidencreek Twp, Berks County; a great grandson, Liam M Brennan; a sister, Leona Zerby of Frederick, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Christ's United Lutheran Church, Ashland, on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be made in St. John's "Kimmel's" Cemetery, Ashland.

Memorial contributions can be made to Christ United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland PA 17921.

Marian E. James, 93, passed away Thursday, November 2nd, at Providence Place Retirement Community, Pottsville, where she had been a resident.
Born in Cressona, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John & Leah Butz Bedford.
She was the widow of John Norman James, who passed away in 1997.
Marian was formerly employed at by St. Luke's Hospital as an x-ray technician.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Oberst.
Marian is survived by her step-daughter Norma J. Morris, wife of Robert D., Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren: Jon Morris husband of Kelly M., Lake Worth, FL, and Robin D. Parsons, wife of Keith, Boynton Beach, FL; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Colin; and sister, Dorothy Singly, Friedensburg, PA, and nieces.
A viewing will be held Thursday, November 9th, at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, PA, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Brennan, 81, of Pottsville passed away Thursday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Ashville, PA on April 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Modestus and Helen Sherry Weakland.

Betty was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was an officer for the Pottsville Catholic War Veterans Aux. Post #1051, Pottsville Lionettes, and Ancient Order of Hiberian’s Aux.

She graduated from Patton High School. Betty retired as a secretary from Pottsville Area School District after 22 years.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brennan (1994), brother, Roy Weakland and his wife Janet.

She is survived by her brothers, Patrick husband of Mally Weakland, Boerne, TX; Robert husband of the late Deborah Weakland, Orchard Park, NY; Earl husband of Barbara Ann Weakland, Ashville, PA; Harvey husband of Linda Weakland, Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Stella Kline wife of Paul, West Seneca, NY; Dorothy Teribury wife of Gary, Canton, GA; Verna Petrie wife of Joseph, Hamburg, NY; Edna Miller wife of the late Jerry Miller, Patton, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Patrick’s RC Church, 319 Mahantongo St, Pottsville. Family and friends may call Friday evening 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday morning from 8:30 am-9:30 am at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Private interment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville.

June D. Perun, 83, of Mountain Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Penn State Health St. Joseph, Reading, Pa.
Born on June 13, 1934 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Dora Schaeffer Frantz.
She was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
June loved watching her grandchildren play sports, watching the Philadelphia Phillies and listening to country music.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years, William J. Perun in 2005; two brothers, Sterling Frantz and Ernest Frantz, and a sister Marion Rehrer.
Surviving are five daughters, Gail Roeder, Barbara and husband Michael Adam, Beverly Sisko and companion Leroy Marderness, Jeanne and husband John Tennis, Lisa and husband Michael Brommer, all of Pine Grove; five grandchildren Alan Roeder, Bryan Adam, Billy Sisko, Alyssa Tennis, and Adrianna Tennis; nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder 
Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Rev. Jill Bierwirth officiating. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.
