Facebook Launches Parent-Controlled Messenger App for Kids

Your kids can now use Facebook messaging!

You know your kids have asked numerous times to use your Facebook account or even messenger to contact their friends and it's been a resounding NO.

Facebook hasn't always been the best place for kids but on Monday morning, the social media giant launched a new app to help you communicate with them and let them chat with their friends.

The app is called Messenger Kids, and Facebook says the new app makes it easier for kids to safely video chat and message with family and friends when they can’t be together in person.

Messenger Kids is full of features for kids to connect with the people. Once their account is set up by a parent, kids can start a one-on-one or group video chat with parent-approved contacts.

Messages to other users appear through the regular Messenger app and the Facebook web site.

The app can be download for iPad, iPod touch, or iPhone through the App Store.
