Ashland Activates Drought Contingency Plan

Due to drought conditions, the Ashland Area Municipal Authority is activating Stage 1 of our Drought Contingency Plan for all customers.

Stage 1 prohibits all Non-Essential Water Uses in our service area. 






The following water uses are declared nonessential and are prohibited within the Service Area: 
  • serving water in restaurants, clubs or eating places unless specifically requested by the individual; and ornamental water use. 
  • watering of lawns, outdoor gardens, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs,and other outdoor plants;
  • washing of automobiles and trucks; washing of streets, driveways, and sidewalks;

  1. This is the dead of winter, who in their right minds is going to be out doing any of this any time soon..I understand drought conditions, but we could always get 6 more feet of snow till winter is over...just saying...
