"Brutus" Arrives at New Home with the Schuylkill Historical Fire Society

On Thursday, "Brutus",  the latest addition to the Schuylkill Historical Fire Society was brought to it's new home in the Mahanoy City Warehouse Complex .

The 1959/93 American Lafrance 85' ladder truck, with the nickname "Brutus", served with the Washington Fire Company No. 1 for 58 years and joins the 1976 Hahn 100 GPM Pumper that is also housed with the historical society.

The historical society purchased the ladder truck from the borough for $1,234.56, which was approved Wednesday.

Even though the truck is now out of service and housed in Mahanoy City, the truck will still take part in local parades and events.
