Schuylkill County Man Found with Bricks of Heroin, Meth, and Other Drugs in Hazleton

A Schuylkill County man along with a Shamokin man were arrested in Hazleton Thursday on drug charges.

According to Hazleton Police, a patrol unit responded to the 300 block of South Poplar St. for a report of two suspicious vehicles.

Upon arrival, the vehicle matching a description were observed in the area occupied by three males.

Two of the males identified as Kyle Merenda, 23, of Barnesville and Derek Siniard, 23, of Shamokin were found to be in possession of over 30g of Crystal Meth, 7 bricks of Heroin, over 65 pills of assorted prescription medication, 3 scales, 3 cell phones, Marijuana, packaging materials, 3 ledgers and over $2000.00 in US Currency.

Both will be charged with three counts each of possession with intent to and several other Misdemeanor Charges.

Merenda is already waiting trial on drug delivery resulting in death and related charges. He is one of three people charged in the April 2016 overdose death of Alexandria “Alex” Sienkiewicz, 23, of Tamaqua.
