Patricia M. Brand, 70, of Long Stretch Rd., Pine Grove, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in the Reading Hospital, West Reading.

Born on March 20, 1947 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Margaret Scullin Mahaney.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven where she was active in the School and Youth Ministry.
Patricia was a Educator at Nativity, Central Dauphin, and North Schuylkill School Districts.
She was an avid gardener and loved her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Eric Brand; two daughters, Michelle Brand and Angela Brand, both of Pine Grove; a son, Gregory and wife Heather Brand of Lake Wynonah; two grandchildren, Brody and Aubree Brand; a brother, Dr. Edward J. Mahaney, Jr. of Cape May, N.J.; a sister Jane and husband Peter Kafigian of Virginia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Msgr. Edward Zemanik officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 9:00 A.M.- 10:15 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 101 W. Frack Street Frackville, PA 17931 in her memory.

Jean M. Behney, 86, of Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Stoneridge Town Centre in Myerstown.
Born on July 3, 1931 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Elsie Strausser Behney.
Surviving are her brother Alfred and wife Shirley Behney of Bethel, a nephew Fred Behney.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Rev. Dr. Donald C. Wetzel officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Suedberg Church of God Cemetery, Pine Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospice, 1503 Quentin Rd., Lebanon, Pa. 17042 in her memory.

Elizabeth B. Houser, 95, of Sheppton, passed away Tuesday, January 16th, 2018.

Elizabeth was born in Oneida, on December 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Susan (Stoffa) and Samuel Kakaley.

A life long homemaker, Elizabeth worked for a short time in the local garment industry, where she excelled as a seamstress, turning that passion into a hobby, crafting many of her own clothes. She also enjoyed drawing and was an avid flower gardener.

Elizabeth was a member of St. James United Church of Christ Sheppton.

She was preceded in death by a sister Helen DiChiara and a brother, Samuel Kakaley, Jr., and by her husband, Thomas H. Houser.

She is survived by a daughter Arlene, wife of Oscar Beninsky, of Ringtown;
and by two sons, Thomas Houser, and his wife Jacqueline of Sheppton; and Keith Houser, and his wife Julie of Virginia. Also surviving are a sister Louise Scott, of New Mexico; and two brothers, Edward Kakaley, of Washington and Michael Kakaley, of Sheppton.

She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service which will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 20th at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.

A viewing will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service.

Elizabeth will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Old White Church Cemtery, Ringtown, following the service.
