9th Grade Student Charged with Making Online Terroristic Threat at Williams Valley

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Lykens, a 15 year old 9th Grade student from Williams Valley High School was charged on Wednesday for making threats toward the school.

Police say school officials reported that they were made aware of a threatening in nature Instagram post.  Underneath the photograph posted on Instagram was the comment "I hate everyone at WV.  Like why can't they all just disappear."  The post was uploaded on 02/11/2018.

The teen has been charged with making terroristic threats, causing or risking catastrophe and criminal use of a communication facility.

The State Police were assisted by the Dauphin County District Attorney's office and the Williams Valley School District.

The State Police were also at district schools Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Williams Valley School District announced the following late Wednesday.

The Pennsylvania State Police have one individual in custody in connection with a social media post that was brought to the attention of the administration after the initial threat was received on Monday (2/19/2018). The initial threatening message remains unsubstantiated. School will be in session tomorrow (2/22/2018) and the PSP will continue to provide safety checks for our school campus in the coming days. All student absences on Tuesday and Wednesday will be excused.
