Geraldine Rae Kosick, 84, Girardville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday evening surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wall Township, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy Polhemus Gifford.

Rae was devoted to her family and was truly a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will be sorely missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Kosick in 2015; her sister, Grace Burghardt and three brothers: Ernest, Robert and Howard Gifford.

Rae is survived by her five daughters: Stephanie Trimboli, FL, Bernadette Kosick, Ringtown, Justine Alexander, Girardville, Monique Benjamin, FL and Victoria Weikel, Girardville; her three sons: Howard Kosick, Girardville, Kenneth Kosick, Frackville and Earl Kosick, NJ; her 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville with Pastor Jack Murray officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday at 2 p.m.

John J. Strunak, Jr., 89 of Pottsville died Thursday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

He was born January 23, 1929 in Beaver Meadows son of the late John J. Sr., and Anna Fedorchak Strunak.

He attended Pottsville High School and was employed by the former Pottsville Gas Company for 46 years prior to retiring.

He was an Army veteran having served during the Korean War.

John was a member of the Pottsville Catholic War Vets Post #1051.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Schuler; 2 sisters, Dolores Valkosak and Marie, Eroh: Surviving are his wife of 64 years Mary Julian Strunak, Glendale AZ, a daughter, Lisa Parker and her husband Jamie, Lake Havasu City, AZ; a son John Strunak and his wife Debra, Palo Alto; 2 grandson Christian and Christopher Parker; a sister, Ann Donoris, Minersville; Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
