Six Juveniles Charged for Martz Hall Fight After Basketball Game

Six juveniles have been charged for a fight that occurred at Martz Hall last month.

According to Pottsville Police, on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 around 9:00pm, the Pottsville Police and surrounding police agencies were dispatched to Martz Hall, to investigate a reported fight in the stands involving several spectators at the Panther Valley/Marian boys playoff basketball game. 

When police arrived, security had already separated those involved.  Police remained on-scene to assist the clearing of Martz Hall after the game and to identify those involved in the physical altercation.

On March 20th, 2018, disorderly conduct charges were filed against six male juveniles identified as being intentionally and actively involved in the fight

During the course of the investigation Pottsville Bureau of Police officers met with administrators from both schools to review video of the incident and positively identify the actors prior to citations being filed in District Court.  The juveniles ranged in age from 15 through 17 years old with three being Marian Catholic High School students and three being Panther Valley High School students.
