PA Franchise Tax To Increase Gas Prices Thursday

Starting on Thursday, New Year's Day, Pennsylvania's Franchise Tax on oil companies will go into effect and increase oil by 10 cents per gallon.  Companies are then likely to pass it down to the gas pumps.

As of 12/30, the average price of gas in Pennsylvania is $2.57 a gallon.

The increase in the tax is part of Act 89 of 2013, the transportation funding law.  This law was created to fund the upkeep of roads and other bridge work around the state.

Where have you seen the cheapest gas prices and how do you feel about raising of these taxes?
