Man and Woman Lead Police in Pursuit in Stolen Pickup Truck

A man and woman are facing numerous charges after a retail theft and leading State Police in a pursuit last weekend.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on December 14th, 2019 around 2:20pm, troopers were dispatched to the Dollar General, located at 1005 Summer Valley Road, in New Ringgold for a retail theft.

Prior to the trooper's arrival, the individuals involved fled the scene in a red pickup truck towing another red pickup truck on a trailer.

The truck was observed in New Ringgold by troopers and a traffic stop was attempted.

The driver, later identified as Chad Belsak, 44, of New Ringgold, failed to yield and pursuit ensued.

The pursuit continued onto backroads in the New Ringgold area, until at one point, the truck being towed fell off the trailer and went down an embankment.

Belsak continued to drive with the trailer still attached, and drove through a cornfield until he came upon the woods edge.

Belsak, and a passenger, Marybeth Lyn Lambert, 35, of Schuylkill Haven, exited the truck and attempted to flee on foot into the woods.

Both were apprehended and taken into custody.

Belsak was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Rossi, l where bail was set at $100,000 on charges of receiving stolen property, retail theft, robbery, DUI, and other offenses and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison.

Lambert was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on active warrants.

Police also added that after a further investigation, one of the pickups involved was reported stolen to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, the other truck was reported stolen from the Walker Township area, and the trailer was reported stolen to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven.
