Schuylkill Haven Man Wanted After Leading Police in Pursuit Across Schuylkill County

A Schuylkill Haven man is wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police after leading law enforcement in a pursuit on Wednesday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday morning, around 11:30 am. State Police Cpl. Hornung attempted to stop a 2002 Subaru sedan on Walnut Street in Ashland for a registration violation.

The driver failed to stop and a 10 mile pursuit began that crossed multiple jurisdictions, which included an active work zone that endangered construction workers.

During the pursuit, Troopers from Schuylkill Haven Barracks were able to successfully utilize stop sticks which deflated 2 of the vehicle's 4 tires.

The driver continued on the flat tires until attempting to flee on a dirt trail, when the vehicle became disabled.

At this point the driver fled on foot through the woods.

Two passengers, who were not identified, were taken into custody.  The driver, Charles Brilla, 28, of Schuylkill Haven is still at large.

Along with charges that will be filed for the pursuit, Brilla is also wanted on several active arrest warrants.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Frackville Barracks at (570) 874-5300.
