Shenandoah Police: Man Shot in Leg Wednesday Morning


The Shenandoah Police have released additional details in relation to the shooting that took place in the borough Wednesday morning.

According to Shenandoah Police Chief George Carado,  on Wednesday at approximately 9:30 am police responded to 26 N West St for a report of a shooting. 

At the home, Police Officers spoke to Quran Naim Rash Newsome, 25, with a last known address in Scranton, PA. 

Newsome told police he had been shot in the leg.   He was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center and later release.

Chief Carado says the investigation is still ongoing.

Shenandoah Police were assisted by police units from Mahanoy City, West Mahanoy Twp, Frackville Borough and PA State Police.
