Hundreds of Ducks Race Down Mill Creek For Annual Rubber Ducky Race

On Sunday, Avenues held the 33rd Annual Rubber Ducky Race in Saint Clair.

The days festivities began in the Walmart parking lot where a basket auction was held with food, vendors and games.  WMGH provided music and broadcasted live from the event.

The culmination of the day was the Rubber Ducky race that was scheduled to begin at 3:32pm where hundreds of ducks were dumped into Mill Creek.  The ducks raced to the bridge at Terry Rich Boulevard.

Members had been fundraising by selling rubber ducks for $5 over the past couple months.  The prize, $1,000 to the person who purchased the duck at arrived at the finish line first.

The 2021 prize went to Janet Miller, of Mifflinburg.

Assisting with the event and race was Womer's Garage and the Schuylkill Hose Company No. 2’s Dive Rescue and Recovery Team, from Schuylkill Haven.

All the ducks were recovered from the creek after the race.
