Pottsville Rolls Past Bangor


POTTSVILLE – The Pottsville Crimson Tide evened their record on the season Friday night with a commanding 44-13 win over visiting Bangor Area at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Pottsville (2-2) exploded for 44 first-half points, overwhelming the Slaters (0-4 before the break and cruising to victory in front of the home crowd.

Senior running back Juleon Bainbridge delivered, opening the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run before adding a 20-yard fumble return for a score. Moments later, Bainbridge broke free for a 51-yard touchdown run to put the Tide firmly in control.

Junior Brody Eroh added to the offensive surge with a 35-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Andrew Allen connected with senior Christian Alvarez on an 11-yard strike, and Pottsville’s defense forced a safety. Allen capped the dominant first half by finding junior tight end Maxwell Clews for a 14-yard touchdown pass.

Allen was perfect on his extra point attempts, helping the Tide build a 44-0 halftime lead.

The Slaters regrouped in the third quarter, with Riley Waldron powering in from 1 yard out, though the extra point was blocked. Later, freshman quarterback Lincoln Rehrig connected with senior wide receiver Kamal Crockett for a 27-yard touchdown, with Brayden Mueller adding the PAT.

That would be the extent of Bangor’s scoring, as Pottsville’s defense locked down in the final frame.
Looking Ahead

With the win, Pottsville climbs back to .500 at 2-2. The Crimson Tide now prepare for a tough Week 5 matchup on the road against undefeated Southern Lehigh.
