Marian Catholic High School announced that Jeanette Barron has resigned as head coach of the girls basketball program due to personal reasons, effective immediately.
School officials said Barron stepped away from the position to focus on personal matters. Marian Catholic expressed appreciation for her leadership and dedication during her time guiding the Fillies program.
“Marian Catholic is grateful to Coach Barron for stepping up to the position and for the time and effort she has contributed to the Fillies basketball program,” the school said in a statement.
Barron will continue to be a part of the Marian Catholic community in her role as a social studies teacher.
Former Marian Catholic girls basketball assistant coach Jeff Onushco has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
