PennDOT Announces Two Weeks of Milling and Paving Projects in Northern Schuylkill County

Motorists traveling through northern Schuylkill County should prepare for daytime lane restrictions over the next two weeks as PennDOT crews complete milling and paving projects on two roadways.
The first project will take place on Zion Grove/Ringtown Road in Union and North Union townships. Crews will mill and pave the roadway between Ringtown and Route 339 beginning Monday, June 29, through Friday, July 3.

Work will be performed daily from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Drivers can expect lane restrictions and periodic delays while PennDOT completes the improvements. Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

Following the completion of that project, PennDOT crews will move to Morea Road in Mahanoy and West Mahanoy townships. Milling and paving will take place between Frackville and Route 54 from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10.

That project will also be conducted between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day with lane restrictions in place. PennDOT advises motorists to expect delays and to exercise caution while traveling through the area.

According to PennDOT, neither project is expected to be delayed by rain.
