OBITUARY: Dorothy H. (Cudo) Wisniewski, 96, of Shenandoah

, 96 of Shenandoah passed away early Thursday morning, October 20, 2022, in her home.

Born in Shenandoah on April 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Mary (Mentel) Cudo.

Dorothy was a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Class of 1944.

Early in life, she worked for Luden’s Candy and Ford Motor Company, and later worked as a seamstress for many local garment factories until retirement.

She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish and the former St. Stanislaus Church, the Polish Ladies Social Club, Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens, and an original member of the former Eagles Club Auxiliary as a trustee all of Shenandoah.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Benedict, Zigmund, and Robert; sister, Felicia; son, Daniel Vale Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Mary, wife of David Vale.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Raymond; a daughter, Diane Monlish (Daniel) Shenandoah; a son, David Vale, of Shelbeyville, KY; five granddaughters, Lee Ann Jones, Lori Vale (fiancĂ©, Paul), Dana Eppley (Tyler), Darlene Monlish-White (Geoffrey), and Danielle Mozdy (Joseph); five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dorothy loved her own children but also her many “adopted” grandchildren from the neighborhood.

Religious services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be announced at a later date.
