The daughter of the late Mary and Earl Yeager, she was born in Ashland on May 29, 1928 and graduated from the former Ashland High School in 1946. After working for several years at Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia, she returned to Ashland, where she married Dr. Alfred Roshoe. They were married for 55 years until his passing in 2006.
Although most of her life was spent in Ashland, she and her husband moved to Florida after his retirement. They returned to Ashland in 2002.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland, the Ashland Rotary Club and the former Fountain Springs Country Club, where she was an avid golfer.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Thomas Yeager and a granddaughter Tiffany. Joan was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her survivors include two sons, Gary, married to Linda, Ringtown, and Richard, married to Laura, Frackville: also, grandchildren, Krista Weikel (William) Frackville, Pamela Scully (Brian) Fountain Springs, Thomas and Matthew (married to Nikkie), Frackville, and great grandchildren Kira, Leonardo and Jameson.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, with Rev. Dana Heckman Biehl officiating. In liew of flowers, it is requested that those planning an expression of sympathy contribute in Joan’s memory to: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 35 N. 9th Street, Ashland, Pa 17921.
