Born in Pottsville, PA on April 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Leroy and Mary (Benedict) Wetzel.
Bob was a graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Class of 1958. He served in the US Army as a CPL from 1958-1961. Bob was the owner and operator of the Hamburg Diner and also fixed commercial sewing machines. He was an avid sports fan, who loved the Philadelphia Phillies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Theresa Moser, Magdeline Maskerines, and Bernice Sabadas; brothers: Joseph, William, Michael, and James Wetzel.
Bob is survived by a son Aaron Robert Wetzel and his companion Jamie Reichard, Womelsdorf; a daughter Alyssa Nicole Blodgett, Utah; a brother Francis Wetzel, Port Carbon; close friends Jennifer and Troy Herman, Hamburg; and nieces and nephews.
Bob's funeral services will be held private.
