OBITUARY: William Joseph “Bill” Paslawsky, 73, of Hometown

William Joseph “Bill” Paslawsky
, 73, of Hometown, PA died on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Coaldale, PA. He was the husband of Ann Louise (Lukac) Paslawsky with whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage this past June. 

Born on February 1, 1949, in Coaldale, Bill was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Sweeney) Paslawsky. A 1966 graduate of Panther Valley High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Penn State in 1970. Bill was employed by Miners Memorial Hospital as an administrator for a number of departments including Billing and Patient Privacy. He retired from the St. Luke Health System in 2011. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Tamaqua where he currently served as Sacristan, was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and served on various church committees. His spare time was spent gardening, swimming, taking trips to Mississippi and looking for just the right item to satisfy his notorious sweet tooth. 

In addition to his wife Ann Louise, Bill is survived by sons, Philip Paslawsky and his wife Alicia of Gautier, MS and Andrew Paslawsky of Hometown; grandson, Caleb Davis of Mississippi; great grandchild, Legend Davis; sister, Marybeth Zlock and her husband, Milan of State College, PA; brother-in-law, Lenny Hoben of Whitehall, PA; and many nephews and nieces. 

He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Ann “Mattie” Hoben in 2021. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 11, 2022, in St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Robert Finlan officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown will follow the mass. Call 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 10 and 9-10:30 AM on Friday, November 11 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. 

Memorials in Bill’s name may be made to St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252.
