Image from Standard Speaker

Just when you thought the controversy was over and we've all moved on and forgotten about the issue of Chief Kessler using Gilberton borough's guns in a Youtube video, the billboard to the left appeared along Route 924 in Gilberton, heading towards Shenandoah.

The billboard was put up Tuesday and will be there for 30 days.

It was paid for by a Washington D.C. Organization called The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. (www.csgv.org)

Chief Kessler later posted the following picture on his Facebook page while standing in front of the billboard.

Schuylkill County Spreads Word of News Rapidly With Social Media

Before the days of Facebook and Myspace (remember that one?), you had to wait a day before you could get news of why your borough's fire whistle went off or where the police were heading when they flew by your house at 8:00 PM.  Unless you were one of the lucky few to have a scanner.

That is no more with the help of Facebook.  Many pages have popped around Facebook just to spread the word of news around Schuylkill County.  There pages dedicated to strictly announcing any fire calls in the county or even Police activity.
