A man who was rescued from a fire in Girardville Friday morning has died.

(01/08/16) As of 10:30am, Friday morning, Interstate 81 Northbound is closed from Lebanon County into Schuylkill County.

(01/08/16) - Emergency personnel were called around 7:15am to a working structure fire in Girardville.

A Frackville man has been charged with stealing thousands from the restaurant he worked at.

Just after 9:15am, fire crews were called to the area of the Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant along Route 309, West Penn Township for a reported brush fire.

Reports from passing motorists called stating that there were multiple brush fires along the berm of the road in the area.

West Penn, New Tripoli, and New Ringgold Fire Companies were called to the scene.

The Times News is now reporting that the fires are now under investigation.

Body Found Near Marlin Tuesday Morning

The body of a man was found near Marlin Tuesday morning.

HARRISBURG -- The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today urged all Pennsylvanians to test their homes for radon, a deadly radioactive gas that’s the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers in the United States. DEP also urged residents to take action to reduce radon levels in their homes if they are high.

Around 9:15am, Tuesday morning, fire crews were called to 52 Westwood Street for a working house fire.

Tamaqua residents were warned Monday about a white pickup stealing trash from the borough.

Around 11:45pm, Monday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 270 Brandonville Road, near Ringtown for a motor vehicle accident.

Powerball Rises to $400 Million Jackpot

After no one hit the jackpot on Saturday night's Powerball drawing, the jackpot has now risen again.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) reminds customers that a 6 percent toll increase for E-ZPass and cash customers will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2016. While the increase impacts cash and E-ZPass rates equally, E-ZPass customers will still save as much as 35 percent on PA Turnpike tolls.
