Around 8:45pm, emergency personnel were dispatched to the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 125 for a tractor trailer fire.
A tanker task force was quickly dispatched calling for additional tankers from Ryan Township, Altamont, Butler Township, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Girardville, and Gordon.
The fill site for tankers has been set up near Rite Aid in Frackville.
Around 9:15pm, the southbound lanes were closed at the Mahanoy City exit (Exit 131) to detour traffic off the Interstate and onto Morea Road.
The tractor trailer was reported to be carrying bottled water.
