Winter Storm Expected to Drop 5 to 7 Inches of Snow on Schuylkill County on Saturday

A Winter Storm is expected hit Schuylkill County on Saturday.

As of 3:00pm, Friday, a Winter Storm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for Schuylkill County.

The warning was issued from 4:00am Saturday until 7:00pm, Saturday evening with the storm expected to drop anywhere from 5  to 7 inches of snow being accompanied by 45mph winds.

The storm is expected to begin at rain around 2:00am Saturday then change over to snow by daybreak. The snow will be heaviest in the morning hours before tapering off to snow showers in the afternoon and ending by 4:00pm.

The higher amounts of snow are forecasted to be in the northern and western areas of Schuylkill County with lesser amounts to the south.

The wind gusts from the system are expected to linger until Sunday morning.
