The incident happened just before 2:00am at 222 2nd Street, in Port Carbon.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the Troop L Major Case Team is investigating a burglary that occurred at the non-occupied home.
The property owner reportedly found a male burglarizing the property and shot him.
The male was then flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with unknown injuries.
