Alex Charlock, 91, Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Frackville passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 1st.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10th at 12 noon from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Friends are invited to his visitation at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Daniel John Greis
, 74, of Schneck Dr., Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at St. Luke's Anderson Campus in Easton.

Born on January 13, 1949 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Daniel and Evelyn Reedy Greis.

He was a Navy Veteran.

Daniel was a Handyman/Laborer and worked for various companies in the Pine Grove area including Harold M. Felty Trucking, TGW Corp., the former Moyer's Flower Shop, and Superior 3 Construction.

He was a member of the Pine Grove Fish and Game.

Surviving are a brother, Thomas Greis of Port Carbon, and many other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale.

Karen J. Piccione, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, February 2nd, peacefully, at her residence.

Karen was born in Pottsville, on January 22, 1942, a daughter of the late Catherine (Nagri) and Leroy Gensel Jones.

She was the widow of Louis (Lou) J. Piccione and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Orwigsburg.

Karen graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1959. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from Juanita Collage in 1963 and earned her Master’s in Guidance from Kutztown University.

She worked as a Teacher & Guidance Counselor for the Blue Mountain School District. Karen was a member of the O.W.L.S. and the local Mah Jongg Club.
Karen is survived by her son, Lee Piccione, husband of Julie of Severn MD and grandchildren Kendall & Kade Piccione.

A Celebration of Life Service for Karen will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. A memorial gathering will begin at 3:00 PM

Katherine M. "Kitty" (Maksimik) Breznik
, 86, of Shenandoah, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by her loving sons.

Kitty was the loving and devoted wife of Leo Breznik Sr. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together before his passing in 2006.

Born April 9, 1936, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Stanley P. Maksimik (Moxie) Jr. and Catherine (Chatcavage) Maksimik.

Kitty was a graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School.

Prior to her retirement, Kitty was a self-employed mail contractor with the United States Postal Service. Earlier in life, she worked for the former Purolator Products, Pattersonville; the former General Cigar Co., Mahanoy City; and King Kruller Donut Shop in Shenandoah.

Kitty was active in local Democratic politics, along with her husband, and served as a member of the Shenandoah Valley school board. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and the former Saint Stanislaus Parish, both of Shenandoah. She was also a member of the former Polish Ladies Social Club.

Kitty was a hunter, enjoyed playing bingo and was a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. She looked forward to the Super Bowl.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were two sisters, an infant, Dianna Maksimik and Doris Bereschak.

Surviving are three sons, Atty. Leo Breznik and his wife, Linda, of Shenandoah Heights, Frank Breznik and his wife, Lisa, of Shenandoah, and Michael Breznik and his wife, Cheryl, of Frackville; three grandchildren, Kayla Nitolo, of Shenandoah, Hunter Breznik, of Pittsburgh, and Brandon Breznik, of Frackville; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lylah and Aleah Nitolo, all of Shenandoah. Also surviving are brothers, Daniel and Stanley Maksimik, both of Shenandoah Heights; one sister Patricia O’Neill of Las Vegas; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Divine Mercy Parish, 108 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, PA 17976, or Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Junior C. "Chup" Kehler
, age 92, formerly of Valley View, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at Serenity Gardens, Kulpmont.

He was born on Friday, February 7, 1930, in Eldred Twp, a son of the late Cleaton L Kehler and the late Gertrude E (Hornberger) Kehler.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Chup was employed at Blyler, Masser, and Shermans Coal Companies, prior to his retirement. He also owned and operated Kehler's Garage and Welding, Valley View .

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins.

He was also a member of VFW Post 8237 and American Legion Post 575 Valley View, and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.

Chup enjoyed woodworking, traveling, going to picnics, watching James Bond and war movies, and spending time with his family. .

His wife Marilyn M (Maurer) Kehler, passed away in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; by three sisters, Jean Kehler, Esther Baum, and Betty Geiser; and by two brothers, Wesley Kehler and Ray Kehler.

He is survived by two sons, Rory S Kehler and his wife Marie of Herndon and Robert L Kehler and his companion Stephanie Lee of Owings Mills, MD; a daughter, Melissa G Zimmerman and her husband Samuel of Pitman; eight grandchildren, Jennifer M (Nick) Strauss, Scott A (Tiff) Ramer, Angela M (Matt) Sutton, Devon R (Anna) Kehler, Garrett N (Jessica) Kehler, Michael L (Megan) Zimmerman, Charlie A Zimmerman, and Tricia K (Daniel) Fedor; four great-grandchildren, Carynne M Zimmerman, Lorelei K Zimmerman, Noah J Zimmerman, and Oakley M Sutton; a sister, Carol A Hoy and her husband Carl of Valley View; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev Lee Diefenderfer officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

Frank J. Corch, Jr., 84, of McAdoo, passed away Friday afternoon at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Eleanor (Boger) Corch, Sr.

Frank was a member of Christ Reformed U.C.C., McAdoo, where he was very active in church functions.

He was a graduate of McAdoo High School, class of 1958, and a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the McAdoo V.F.W. Post 6708, and their Firing Squad Honor Guard.

Prior to retiring, Frank was employed at General Foam Corp., He was also a self-employed mason who mastered his skills.

Surviving, are his sister, Elaine Molinaro and husband Frank of Hazleton; brothers Kenneth Corch and wife Karen of Emmaus; and Freddie Corch and companion Bernadette Murphy of McAdoo; his longtime companion Carol Brogan of Hazleton; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private funeral services will be held.

The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
