Two Men from Lehighton Face Charges for Stealing Aluminum Gutters in West Penn Township


Two men face charges for allegedly stealing aluminum gutters in West Penn Township last month.

According to West Penn Township Police, on February 15th, 2023, officers received a telephone call from the owner of Patriot Seamless Gutters located at 43 Overlook Drive in West Penn Township. The owner reported a theft of aluminum gutters valued at approximately $550.00. 

The theft was determined to have occurred on Monday, February 13th, 2023 through surveillance video from the owner.

Through that same video, Police were able to identify the suspect involved as Michael Thomas Everett, 47, and Travis Noel Everett, 45, both of Lehighton. 

The owner also reported that the gutters were taken to J.W. Zaprazny Inc. in New Ringgold and scrapped for money. 

West Penn Police went to J.W. Zaprazny Inc. and obtained all pertinent information regarding the sale including pictures of the vehicle when it weighed in and weighed out of their facility. The pictures of the vehicle at Zaprazny showed the same vehicle as pictured in the surveillance photos from Patriot Seamless Gutters. 

A warrant was issued for the apprehension of Michael and Travis Everett. 

On March 7, 2023, the Everetts were apprehended. 

Travis Everett was arraigned by District Justice Andrew J. Serina and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $5,000.00 10% bail. 

Michael Everett was arraigned by District Justice Andrew J. Serina and committed to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $1000.00 10% bail. 

West Penn Township Police charged Michael and Travis with Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Prop, Receiving Stolen Property, and Criminal Conspiracy Engaging.

Both have posted bail and have since been released.
