William “Bill” B. Motley, 60, of Norwood, PA, passed away on October 31, 2023. Born on July 13, 1963, in Pottsville, PA, Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a truly lovable guy to many friends and colleagues. To know Bill was to love him. He had a great sense of humor and was always making people laugh. His laugh was so infectious which you heard the most after he told his own really bad Dad jokes. Bill is described by his family and friends as someone who was always there when you needed him. He was always just a phone call away.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette (Harley) Motley, and his five sons: Matthew Brian Loignon and his wife Mary and Son Mason, Thomas Edward Motley and his daughter Margo, Scott Aaron Motley, Liam Thomas Motley, and Luke William Motley. He is also survived by his sister, Donna (Motley) Filer and her husband Kenneth Filer, his brother Ronald Motley and his wife Karen, his sister Denise (Motley) Zawada and her partner Dave Parsons, and his brother Duane Motley and his wife Josey.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Motley and Georgine Louise (Schafer) Motley.

After graduating from Blue Mountain High School in 1982, Bill served in the Navy from 1982 through 1993. He had a successful career as an Aircraft Mechanic at Boeing Helicopter, from which he recently retired.

Bill had a passion for fishing and tying flies, but his true joy came from riding his Harley Davidson through country roads and participating in fundraising runs.

A funeral service will be held Friday 11/3/23. Visitation will be from 9 am – 11 am. A memorial service will be held 11am at Griffith Funeral Chapel, located at 520 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bill’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project at Support.woundedwarriorproject.org.

Please join us in celebrating the life of William “Bill” B. Motley, a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
