Born on July 30, 1937 in Pine Grove Township, he was a son of the late John A. and Alma Moyer Schwartz.
He was a 1954 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
Donald was a CNA and had worked for the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove and the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge #409 F. & A.M..
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Irvin Schwartz and Curtis Schwartz.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Barbara A. Sippel Schwartz; a daughter, Deborah and husband Scott Umberger of Mt. Zion; a son Donald J. and wife Susan Schwartz of Pine Grove; three grandchildren, Derek Scheib and companion Sarah Robey of Palmetto, Fl, Devan and wife Elizabeth Scheib of Leola, Jeniffer Schwartz of Pine Grove; two great grandchildren, Calvin Scheib, Charleigh Olivia Scheib; a step great grandchild, Aria Watkins; nieces and nephews.
All Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in St. John's Union Cemetery, Friedensburg.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church General Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in his memory.

Surviving Carol are her loving mother, Julia (Kurchak) Hill; her devoted sons, Stephen W. Wargo and his wife Anne of Tuscarora, Jamie L. Wargo and his wife Jill of Auburn, and Lance J. Wargo and his fiancée Marissa Stoudt of Tamaqua; her caring brother, Ernest M. "Butch" Hill, and his companion Renee Ziegler of Coaldale; her cherished sister, Beverly Hefflefinger, and her husband James of Tamaqua; and her adored grandchildren, Brooke, Taylor, Chase, Cole, Caden, Logan, Savannah, Noah, and Evelyn. Additionally, Carol is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
A graduate of Tamaqua Area High School in 1971, Carol exemplified a strong work ethic throughout her life. She dedicated over 17 years of service in the Dietary Department at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Center and worked previously at J.E. Knitting Mills, where she was admired by colleagues and patients alike. Carol also worked previously at the M & Deli, where serving food was equal to the amount of smiles she gave the customers. Even amidst her illness, Carol took on a new role in the fall, working at the Tamaqua School District cafeteria. Known for keeping her home meticulous, and her keen eye for cardinals and owls, which she believed were spiritual signs, Carol also displayed unwavering devotion as a mother and nanny, with many family members can attest, was always a quick phone call away, which always turned from minutes to hours. Carol always enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family, making sure dinners were crafted with the ones she loved and hanging up decorations for the holidays, which her sons could agree, always had to be celebrated with the "perfect" Christmas tree. Carol also enjoyed music, having enjoyed Elvis and visiting Graceland, loving the hair band from the 80s Whitesnake, and if you asked her what she was listening to recently, she would tell you everything under the sun about Bon Jovi. Carol was also known to have a green thumb, taking care of plants throughout her house.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., located at 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday evening, May 2, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with visitation hours starting at 5:00 P.M. until the time of services.
Graveside services will take place on Friday morning, May 3, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol's honor may be made to the Tamaqua/Carbon American Cancer Society at 33 West Ridge Street, Lansford, Pennsylvania, or to the Carbon County Animal Shelter at 63 Broad Street, Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania 18240.

Born Tuesday, December 12, 1944 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the son of the late Robert O., and Anna M. (Ulshafer) Brode. Roger was also predeceased by; beloved wife, Mary Ann (Carroll) Brode; grandchildren, Nicole Huegel, Samantha Durling; sister, Barbara A. Vacula; brother, Barry A. Brode, Sr.
Surviving are; daughter, Sonia K. Brode of Newark Delaware, Christine Alfaro; son, Brandon Brode and his wife Elizabeth both of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Brittney Pester, Jade Lee, Savannah Alfaro, Deliah Brode, Dakota Brode, Nathaniel Brode, Ellie Brode; great grandchildren, Daunte, Sylis, Leilah, Jace, and Luna. Many nieces and nephews also survive Roger..
Roger served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from Premium Fine Coal of Tamaqua. Roger was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Roger was a carpenter, welder and mechanic, he was always the first one to volunteer to help whenever anyone needed him. Roger could fix or repair anything.
