New York Woman Faces Charges for Attempting to Smuggle Drugs into SCI-Mahanoy

A New York woman is facing charges after she was caught smuggling drugs into a State Prison in Schuylkill County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024, Natasha Santana 42, of Bronx, NY was caught trying to smuggle drugs into SCI-Mahanoy for an inmate.

Santana was taken into custody without incident at the prison and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Andrew J. Serina on charges for contraband/controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $10,000(10%) cash bail.  Santana spent the night in Schuylkill County Prison and was released Friday morning after posting bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Judge Serina on May 9th, 2024.
