Gilberton Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Domestic Incident

A Gilberton man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following a violent domestic disturbance that escalated into threats against law enforcement officers, according to Frackville Police.

Tamal Antonelli, 45, of Gilberton, has been charged through the office of Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli with the following offenses stemming from the May 15, 2025 incident:

  • Aggravated Assault (F2)
  • Obstruction of Administration of Law (M2)
  • Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another (M1)
  • Disorderly Conduct – Engaging in Fighting (M3)

According to court documents, officers were dispatched to 110 Long Row Road in Frackville around 10:20 p.m. on May 15 for a reported domestic dispute. The caller told dispatchers that a highly intoxicated male was screaming at his wife and making threats. She also noted the man had a history of anger issues and destructive behavior.

Upon arrival, officers heard yelling from inside the home. A female answered the door, with a shirtless male — later identified as Antonelli — standing behind her. Police say Antonelli became immediately aggressive, yelling and attempting to block officers from entering the residence. He allegedly placed his hands on an officer and physically pushed them out of the doorway, leading to his detention.

Antonelli, appearing intoxicated and agitated, reportedly ignored repeated commands to remain seated and told officers, “You’re lucky I couldn’t get to my f---ing gun or I would shoot you in your f---ing ass.”

Police placed Antonelli into custody due to the threat and transported him to the hospital for evaluation. During the transport, Antonelli allegedly banged his head and punched windows inside the patrol car while yelling obscenities and threats.

At the hospital, his combative behavior continued, including verbal abuse, physical resistance toward medical staff, and repeated refusal to follow commands. At one point, police say Antonelli struck an officer in the nose and attempted to bite another during a struggle.

His wife confirmed that the argument had turned physical and that her husband had consumed a large amount of alcohol. She also told police she wasn't injured in the incident.

Frackville Police filed the above charges on May 23rd, and an arrest warrant has been issued for Antonelli's arrest.
