George Scott Hueston, 83, of Palo Alto, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, May 2nd, at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest, Allentown surrounded by his loving family.

George was born in Pottsville, PA on February 21, 1942.

He graduated from Pottsville Area High School class of 1960 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army working as a mechanic. Following his service, he worked in Garment factories as a foreman. He was employed by Sylray and Alpha Mills. Recently, he was employed by the Pottsville Library

George was the husband of Eileen (Fix) Hueston of 54 years. They raised 3 children together and enjoyed a life full of love and adventure. His life was rich with memories and deeply rooted relationships. He had a warm and friendly presence and was a dedicated husband, father, and friend.
George was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He belonged to the Anthracite Concourse Association Pigeon Club and bowling clubs.

George is survived by a daughter, Susan McCormick, of Watsontown; three sons Jeffrey, husband of Wendy Hueston, of Pine Grove; Gregory Allen, husband of Marcia Hueston, of Germansville; Michael, husband of Penny Schaeffer, of Pottstown; a sister, Carol Buchinski, of Pottsville.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren Mindy Hueston, Amanda Hueston, Brandon Hueston, Brandon Babcock, Avery McCormick, Carter McCormick, Cheyanne Landis, Maxine Hoffman, 1 Great Grandchild Savannah Hueston, 1 great grandchild expected in June, nieces nephews.
Friends and family may call Friday 9 to 11 AM at the Schuylkill Memorial Park Chapel.

Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery Schuylkill Haven.

Violet M. Brown
, 85, of Hegins passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.

Born in Valley View on Monday, December 4, 1939, a daughter of the late Raymond Bloch and Viola Long Bloch-Bixler. Violet was raised in Raush Creek by her aunt Theresa Long.

She was the last class to attend Tremont Township High School. She then graduated from Pine Grove High School the following year.

Violet was employed with the admission's/registration's office at the former Polyclinic Hospital. Upon the closing of the Polyclinic Hospital, she worked at the Osteopathic Hospital, where she eventually retired.

She was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Tremont. Violet was also involved with the former antique car club with her late husband.

She had a heart for service and volunteerism. Violet volunteered with many different organizations, including the Penn's Woods Girl Scout Council and the Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and basket raffles. Violet loved being around all different animals, including dogs, cats, a llama, an emu, goats, and parrots. She especially enjoyed watching the bears in her yard. Violet also had a special interest in history, specifically anything related to the Civil War.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore E. Brown, Sr., 1984.

Surviving are her two children, Lori J. Spittler, wife of the late Ernest Spittler, Hegins, and Theodore Brown Jr. and his wife Tamara, Tremont; three grandsons, Bradley Brown (Ashley), Pine Grove, Patrick Lettich (Bobbi Jo), Minersville, and Nathaniel Brown (Melissa), Orwin; four great grandchildren, Krystal Jo, Bo, Jameson, and Livie; two sisters, Carolyn Harris, Gordon, and Elaine, Delaware.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Violet will be laid to rest alongside her husband in the Most Blessed Trinity Cemetery, Tremont.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue, 2 E Railroad Ave, New Ringgold, PA 17960.

Joseph B. Yotko, 79, of Lavelle, passed away, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced. 

The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
