Annual Event Set for June 17 at North Schuylkill's Ghosh Orthodontics Stadium
The Schuylkill United Way has announced the return of the 8th Annual High School Football Challenge, set to take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Ghosh Orthodontics Stadium, located on the campus of North Schuylkill High School.
This exciting, community-driven event will once again bring together all 14 high school football teams from across Schuylkill County for an evening of friendly competition, athleticism, and school spirit. Teams will go head-to-head in seven dynamic challenges, including:
- Passing Challenge
- 180 lb Bench Press
- Long Jump
- Tire Flip
- 2-Man Sled Relay
- Farmers Carry
- Speed Relay
Also making a return “by popular demand” is the fan-favorite Kick Out Contest, where team kickers will compete for bragging rights and showcase their skills in a pressure-packed format.
Blue Mountain High School will return to the field this year as the defending champions, looking to hold onto their title and once again prove themselves as the top team.
Now in its eighth year, the Football Challenge has become a signature summer event and has raised more than $168,000 to date in support of the United Way’s Student Initiatives. These funds help fuel a wide range of programs that directly benefit children and teens throughout Schuylkill County.
In addition to being a fundraiser, the event is also seen as the unofficial kickoff to the high school football season, giving fans a first glimpse at the talent and determination of local athletes.
Admission is free, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend. Food trucks will be on site, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night of food, fun, and football with family and friends.
Whether you're a die-hard football fan, a proud parent, or just looking for a great way to spend a summer evening, the 2025 High School Football Challenge promises to deliver energy, excitement, and community spirit in full force.
