Victims Identified in Suspicious Butler Township Deaths; Investigation Ongoing

Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation after two individuals were found dead inside a home in Butler Township on Friday night.

Troopers from PSP Frackville responded to a residence at 84 Turnpike Road near Gordon around 9:48 PM on May 9, 2025, after receiving a report of two deceased individuals inside the home.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered the bodies of 76-year-old Ronald Lichtenwalner and 74-year-old Victoria Lichtenwalner, a married couple.

On Monday, Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David Moylan described the deaths as “highly suspicious.” He added that the case is being investigated “to the max.”

Post-mortem CT scans were conducted in Schuylkill County, and arrangements are underway to perform a forensic autopsy through the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office with forensic pathologist Dr. Wayne Ross.

The investigation into the deaths remains active.
