According to court documents, Cunningham has been charged with multiple offenses, including felony fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, as well as summary offenses such as driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and failure to obey stop signs. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Patrolman Cody Searfoss of the Minersville Borough Police Department reported that he was conducting stationary patrol in the Fuel Up parking lot when he observed a grey sedan traveling on River Street without functioning rear lights. When Patrolman Searfoss attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle sped away, disregarding multiple stop signs and traveling in the wrong lane of traffic through several borough streets.
The pursuit ended when the officer lost sight of the vehicle near North Third Street. A short time later, the vehicle—a grey Saturn Ion bearing Pennsylvania registration LPG7340—was found parked on Water Street near Pleasant Street. Police determined the car had recently been driven based on the warmth of its wheel-wells and exhaust.
A check of the vehicle’s registration led officers to a Minersville woman, who stated she had left her car for Cunningham to repair but did not give him permission to drive it. She confirmed that she had left the car keys in her mailbox for a neighbor’s use if needed, but Cunningham was only supposed to fix the muffler and not operate the vehicle.
Further investigation uncovered surveillance footage showing Cunningham driving the car away on May 23, the day before the pursuit. Additional video confirmed the vehicle seen fleeing from police matched Andujar’s Saturn Ion. The owner positively identified both her vehicle and Cunningham in the footage.
Police also learned that Cunningham’s driver’s license is under suspension for a prior DUI conviction, making his operation of the vehicle illegal.
A warrant has been issued for Cunningham’s arrest, and he faces the following charges:
- Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer (F3)
- Unauthorized Use of Motor/Other Vehicles (M2)
- Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended/Revoked (Summary)
- Reckless Driving (Summary)
- Two counts of Duties at Stop Sign Violations (Summary)
