A Schuylkill County man has been convicted in the shooting death of his son following a domestic dispute last year.
According to investigators, John F. Gustites fatally shot his son, John A. Gustites, during an argument at their home near Sheppton in September 2024.
The trial began on Monday, with jurors hearing testimony from witnesses and law enforcement officials regarding the events leading up to the fatal shooting. After deliberations, on Wednesday, the jury found John F. Gustites guilty of third-degree murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault. He was found not guilty of voluntary manslaughter.
Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
