Sandra J. Neiswender, 73, of E. Biddle Street, Gordon, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, with family by her side, at her residence. Born in Ashland, September 25, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Dezna (Weikel) Neiswender. Sandy was a member of Hope Community Church, Mt. Carmel. Preceding her in death was a sister in law, Kathy Miller, a brother, Robert Miller, sisters, Ruth Allsop, and Jean Pennypacker.

Survivors:

Sister: Linda Troutman Hornberger, wife of Johnathan Hornberger, Gordon

Brother: Nicholas Miller

Great Niece and Nephews, Xandra, Rylan, and Dezna with whom she spent a lot of time at home and on vacations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Sandy’s life, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. James W. Martello, 36, of Mt. Carmel, passed away May 30, 2025, following a mishap in the Delaware River, Northampton County, Pa. Born in Danville, Nov. 30, 1988, he is the son of Debra Martello, of Mt. Carmel, and Mark Morgan of Tamaqua. Jim attended Kid’s Peace school, and later worked at Knobels Grove in food service. He loved four wheeling and the outdoors.

Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother Robert Hardy and his wife Elizabeth, Wilburton #1

Joseph P. Reilly, 94, Shenandoah, formerly of State College and Southern Pines, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 10th at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah. He was the third born of the late Patrick and Molly Monaghan Reilly.

At the time of his death he was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Ashland. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War.

A graduate of Penn State University, his career was with Cerro Corporation and affiliates serving in Bellefonte, Pa, Cleveland Ohio and New York City retiring from Cerro as Vice President and Controller. He was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Joan Shaffer, his siblings; Helen, John, Frances and James.

He is survived by following brothers and sisters ; Patricia Kowalick, Frackville, Irene Bradshaw, Yardley, Anthony, Frackville, Patrick, Fountain Springs, William and wife Patricia, Mechanicsburg; Robert and wife Jennifer, Charlotte, NC and Thomas and wife Terry, Macungie also by several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 17th at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1104 Walnut Street, Ashland. Rev. Joseph Kovacic will be the celebrant.

Interment will be at a later date in the Veterans National Cemetery in Washington Crossing, PA

Yvonne Marie Wiscount
, 81, formerly of Minersville, passed away peacefully Monday June 9, 2025 at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Ashland March 12, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Gardner J and Alberta (Wilson) Ann.

A 1962 Graduate of Minersville High School and Empire Beauty School, she opened A&Y Beauty Shop with her mother Alberta. She then worked for the PA Department of Revenue, Harrisburg, before obtaining the position of facilities manager for the Minersville Borough Pool.

Yvonne was a member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville, St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was an active member of the Minersville Band Boosters for over 30 years, where she took pride in their outstanding food selections in the concession stand. She was also a member of the Rescue Hook and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary, where she held various positions, the Minersville Republican Club, Tremont Community Organization, and was elected Judge of Election for the former 5th ward. She always enjoyed doing volunteer work within the community whenever needed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Wiscount on February 5, 2018.

Surviving are 2 Daughters Lynn Ann Wiscount and her Fiancé Dale Zulick of Friedensburg; Anissa M. Kistler and her husband William of New Ringgold. 9 Grandcats.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday June 16, 2025 at St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 538 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954. Rev. Johnson will be officiating. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday June 15 and Monday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954. In Lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Minersville Fire and Rescue 300 North St. Minersville, PA 17954.

Bernadette Marie Antonucci, 73, of Ashland, formerly of Minersville, passed away Saturday June 7, 2025 at Post Acute Medical, Wilkes Barre.

Born in Pottsville, May 16, 1953 she was a daughter of the late Michael and Lottie (Sinkosky) Kowalchick.

A graduate of Minersville High School, she went on to work as a teacher’s Aide at John S. Clarke Elementary School, Pottsville before retiring.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville and the former St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Antonucci; a son Michael Houser; a sister Dolores Leshko.

Surviving are a son Daniel Houser and his Fiancé Amanda Breidigan of Pottsville; 2 Grandchildren Kaylee and Aiden Krammes; Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday June 18, 2025 at Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the John S. Clarke Library, 601 N. 16th St. Pottsville, PA 17901.

Donna Lee Stephens
, 52, of Minersville, passed away Sunday, June 8th, 2025, one day shy of her 24th wedding anniversary with her loving husband, Neil.

Born in Pottsville July 6th, 1972, she was a daughter of Ellamae (Rose) Krusnoski of Lebanon and the late Leonard Krusnoski.

A graduate of Minersville Area High School, she’s held numerous jobs over the years, most recently at her much loved job at Coal Town Supermarket where she was involved in many roles of the day to day operations. She could always be found smiling, helping a customer or coworker with whatever was needed. Whether it was working as a clerk, CNA, or store manager, Donna always put forth her best effort and made many friends along the way.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville, the former St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church

Donna was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her most cherished times were spent at family gatherings where she enjoyed playing games, especially Canasta, sitting around the table catching up with everyone, and singing along to the songs her mother played on the piano. She was a very involved Mimi. Wherever Mimi was, Eli wasn’t far behind. He was the light of her life and brought her happiness beyond measure.

Donna always had a smile on her face and a helping hand to give. She touched many lives with her generous spirit. The world has lost a truly good and kind soul who will be deeply missed by so many.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Caitlin Mae Konkus in 2011; brother in-law Roger Schell

Surviving are her husband Neil Stephens; mother Ellamae Krusnoski; children Joshua Carl and Sandy Carl of Minersville; Nicole Graeff and her husband, Zachary, of Newtown; grandson Eli Carl; Sister Theresa Schell of Lebanon; brother Robert Krusnoski and his wife, Kristen, of Port Carbon, nieces, nephews, great nephews, and granddogs and grandcats.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 17, 2025 with Rev. Josh Ott officiating at Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954. Friends may call from 6-8:00 PM Monday and 10-11Am Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray costs at the above address. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Minersville.

George M. Jones, III
, 90, of Pine Grove passed away late Sunday night, June 8, 2025 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Reading on Saturday, March 2, 1935, a son of the late George Jr. and Frances Seidel Jones. He was a graduate of the Mt. Penn High School, Reading.

George was employed as a driver for many organizations and companies throughout his life. Most recently, he worked with St, Lawrence Dairy and the Pine Grove School District. George had previously owned a private refuse removal company.

He was very well known in the Pine Grove community. He and his wife Janet could be found at every Pine Grove High School sporting event cheering on the Cardinals. George enjoyed photography, traveling, and genealogy. He also had a passion for animals and fostered many pets throughout the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Jones, and a sister, Cathy Murray.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Janet Baker Jones; his three children, Cindy Shearer (Greg), Fleetwood, Barbara Peterka (Keith), Bethlehem, and Timothy Jones, Lancaster; two grandchildren, Chelsea Perez, Georgia, and Samuel Peterka, Bethlehem; great grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Wimmer, with one great grandchild on the way; a sister, Carol Gonzalez; a brother, Larry Jones; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of George's Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Francis T "Frank" Lisa
, age 73, of Spring Glen, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

He was born on Friday, June 22, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Cono P Lisa and the late Rose Marie (Malandrucco) Lisa.

Frank was a law enforcement officer for the New York State Supreme Court, prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Frank enjoyed classic cars, hunting, and doing Civil War reenactments.

He is survived by his wife Patti G (Weinbaum) Lisa, to whom he was married for 30 years.

He is also survived by a daughter, Shanti (Jason) Schade of Valley View; four granddaughters, Amanda R (Josue) Valle of San Antonio, TX, Alyssa L Connell of Valley View, Ava G Connell of Valley View, and Autumn L Connell of San Antonio, TX; two great-grandchild, Azalea and Dutton; and a sister, Connie A Lisa of Brooklyn, NY.

Honoring Frank's request there will be no services.
