Janet J. "Jenny" Ruch, 99, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, May 23rd, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Jenny was born in Dumfries, Scotland on March 23, 1926, a daughter of the late John & Janet (Radcliff) Gilfillan.

Married 70 years, she was the widow of Sydney S. Ruch. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel McSweeney.

In addition to working as a pharmacist’s assistant, and a seamstress, Jenny was a homemaker most of her life.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven. Jenny also belonged to the Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens, and Craft Class.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Bubb, wife of Larry, Florida, & Fiona Jacoby, wife of Scott, Schuylkill Haven, her grandchildren: Brian, husband of Kelly, NC, Laura, wife of Jeffrey, Auburn, Philip, Iowa, Steven, husband of Tara, Minnesota & Colleen, wife of James, Minneapolis, and her great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan, & Anna Schaeffer, Tyler & Connor Jacoby, Maxwell, Samuel, & Emmett Bubb, Cooper & Miles Anderson, and Elizabeth, Charles & Harrison Bubb.

A private graveside service will be held at the family’s convenience.

The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Grace ECC, 151 Earl Stoyer Dr., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Ronald R. Lorah, or “Mose”
as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at his home in Ringtown.

Born in Shenandoah on November 5, 1950, he was the son of the late Albert and Laura (Morrell) Lorah.

Mose was a carpenter by trade, having worked many places during his lifetime. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, painting and working on cars, was a known teller of many great stories, and given the nickname of the “lawnmoser”, because you could always find him mowing his lawn.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by his brother William and 3 sisters- Carol, Grace, and Barbara.

His surviving family includes his wife of 48 years, Cathy (Hetherington) Lorah, his daughter Amanda “Mandy” Rhoads with her husband Jeremy, his sister Linda Lorah, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Ricky G. Walsh, 67, of Malones Road, Ashland, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah. Born in Butler Township, he was the son of the late Raymond and Hazel (George) Walsh. He attended North Schuylkill High School, and was employed as a frame builder for the Sealy Mattress Company, Delano, until his retirement. Ricky was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland.

Mary M. Parker
, 88, of Minersville passed away peacefully on Friday at Seton Manor.

Born in Jonestown, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Carroll Kordalski.

Mary was a graduate of the former Cass Twp High School. She was a retired office clerk in the local garment industry. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Parker in 2016.

She is survived by nephews Ken Carey and Steven Parker and nieces Karen Knittel, Michelle Hirschmann and Bonnie Jean Fedor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11 AM in St. Michael’s Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning at the Church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Peach Mountain.

Arrangements are by the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville.

The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Mary to the Memorial Fund of St Michael’s Church of Holy Family Parish.
