Jeffrey L. Schaeffer, 75, of Pine Grove, passed away Saturday, May 31st, at home.

Jeff was born in Pottsville on September 20, 1949, the son of the late Alvin M. Schaeffer, Sr. & Kathryn I. (Rump) Schaeffer.

He was a 1967 graduate of Pine Grove High School.

Rising to the rank of Sergeant, Jeff served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a driver for commissioned officers.

A member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Jeff had been employed as a truck driver. He also belonged to the Lebanon Moose Lodge, and the American Legion Post #374, Pine Grove.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Billie Jo, wife of Michael Westgard, of Dundee, OR, and his son, Jeffrey L. Schaeffer, Jr., husband of Tasha, of Freeburg, PA; grandchildren: Crescent Woods, Aspen Nelson, Alysa Veilleux, Tiffani, & Tristyn Schaeffer, and Alexa Ziegler; great grandchildren: Bailey Woods, Aubrey, Damien, & Lillith Veilleux, and Estella, Reno, & Sora Santos; and nephew, Todd Schaeffer.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Alvin M. "Fritz, Schaeffer, Jr. RN; an infant sister; and nephew, Eric Schaeffer.

Honoring Jeff's wishes prior to his passing, no services will be held.

Jeff’s family would like him to be remembered as a friend to all animals.

In remembrance of Jeff's life, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, PO Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Francis Joseph Foster, age 56, of Cumbola, PA passed away Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Pottsville, Pa. on May 11, 1969, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Dorothea L. (Webb) Foster.

Fran was a graduate of Saint Clair High School, Class of 1987. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Fran worked as an Athletic Trainer and Director at Nativity B.V.M. High School in Pottsville. He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair and loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Angelina Julian.

Fran is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle Marie (Kelchner) Foster; two sons: Anthony Foster and his fiancé' Lara and Aric Foster and his wife Katie; five grandchildren: Nevaeh, Arriella, Dalilah, Everett, and Brady; a great granddaughter Ivy; and a brother Thomas G. Foster.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon at 10AM on Tuesday, June 10th, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday evening from 6-8PM and Tuesday morning from 9-10AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held in the Queen of the Universe Cemetery, Pottsville.
