Blue Mountain’s 11U All-Stars rode an early offensive surge to capture the Little League District 24 Championship Wednesday evening at Toewe/Rebuck Field, defeating Ashland 5-2.
Blue Mountain wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating a run in the top of the first inning. Ashland answered quickly, tying the game at 1-1 in the bottom half.
The turning point came in the third inning when Blue Mountain’s bats came alive, driving in four runs to build a 5-1 advantage. The burst of offense proved decisive as Ashland managed only a single run in the bottom of the fifth but couldn’t close the gap.
Despite Ashland’s efforts to rally late, Blue Mountain’s pitching and defense held firm to secure the championship win.
