Four Transported to the Hospital After Ambulance and Sedan Collide in Mahanoy Township

Four people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance and a sedan Wednesday afternoon in Mahanoy Township.
The crash occurred just before 3:00 p.m. on July 30, 2025, at the intersection of Morea Road and Mahanoy City Road.

According to initial reports, a Chevrolet sedan and a Ryan Township ambulance collided at the intersection. The impact forced the ambulance off Morea Road on a nearby property. The sedan spun out and came to rest about 30 yards away on Water Company Road.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Emergency responders said four individuals were injured in the crash. Two occupants of the sedan were flown to the hospital for treatment. A third occupant of the sedan and one person from the ambulance were transported by ground units from Frackville and Minersville to local hospitals.

West End Fire and Rescue and the Citizen's Fire Company of Mahanoy City responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control and cleanup.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police from Frackville.
