SCAM ALERT: Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office Warns of Impersonation Phone Scam



The Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office is issuing a warning to residents and local businesses after receiving multiple reports of a phone scam involving a caller impersonating a member of law enforcement.

According to officials, individuals have reported receiving suspicious phone calls from (570) 618-1214, with the caller falsely claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office. In a concerning development, the scammer is now reportedly contacting employers and places of business in the county.

The Sheriff's Office emphasizes that these calls are not legitimate, and urges the public to be cautious.

Authorities recommend the following steps if you receive a suspicious call:
  • Do not share personal or financial information.
  • Do not engage with the caller.
  • Report the incident to the Sheriff’s Office or local police.
  • Warn your family, neighbors, and coworkers about the scam.
