Gary L. "Paca" McLaughlin
, 71, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, July 16th, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Born in Coaldale, PA on May 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Marian V. (Rothermal) and John McLaughlin.

Married 39 years, Paca was the husband of Janet B. (Feeley) McLaughlin.

After graduation from Tamaqua Area High School in 1973, Paca attended Lehigh County Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design.

Paca was employed for 15 years at Garden State Tanning in Fleetwood before continuing his career at Hollywood Casino, where he worked until his retirement in 2010.

Paca was deeply involved with ECWA Wrestling, where he served as a security guard and volunteered much of his time beyond that role. In recognition of his dedication, he was honored with induction into the ECWA Hall of Fame in 2007 and received a commemorative plaque.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Paca gave much of his time to youth and community sports. He served as an umpire for softball and baseball games and a referee for football, basketball, and others. He especially enjoyed his time with Railway Little League Baseball in Pottsville, where he made a lasting impact on many young athletes.

In addition to his wife, Paca is survived by two daughters: Melissa Sue, wife of Jeffrey Zipp, and Kelly Lee, wife of Nathan Smith. He is also survived by two grandchildren: Marc Colon, fiance of Justice Nelson; Jayden Zipp; a great granddaughter, Violet Wise; a sister, Carol Ann, wife of Charles Keck; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Joel McLaughlin and Melissa Sue’s mother, Kathy Thomas.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 22nd at Lord Ebling Haus Funeral Home & Crematory, Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 9:30 until the start of services. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Tamaqua.

June L Renninger
, 87, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away July 16th at home.

Born in Pottsville on June 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Laura (Starr) and Robert Martin.

June was the wife of the late Edwin F. Renninger who passed away in 2001.

She was a homemaker for most of her life, and took pride in caring for her family. Because she was always buzzing around, trying to keep up with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she earned the nickname June Bugg.

June was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Cressona. She enjoyed attending service each Sunday and sharing meals with her church family.

During her free time, June loved to play bingo. She loved spending holidays surrounded by her family and always brought the macaroni salad and pumpkin pie. She could often be found in the kitchen giving her grand pups table food.

June is survived by five children: Edwin F. Renninger II (Sharon), of Lehigh Valley; Cathy Carey (Jim), of Pottsville; Ken Renninger (Lisa), of Pottsville; Kelly Schaeffer (Bill), of Cressona, and Lorrie Kohr, of Hegins. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren & several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, June is preceded in death by a son, William Renninger. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on August 16th at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Mount Peace Cemetery, Minersville.

The family requests memorial donations in June’s memory to be forwarded to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Allene A Shadle
, age 95, formerly of Hegins, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Heritage Mills Personal Care Center, Tower City.

She was born on Sunday, November 3, 1929, in Tremont, a daughter of the late Talbert Klinger and Elsie (Kimmel) Klinger.

When Allene's mother died in 1936, Allene and her two sisters Ruth and Treazure, and brother Arlen were placed in the Lutheran Home at Topton in 1938. Her baby brother Larry was placed with Lambert and Hilda Snyder, who later adopted him. In 1947 her sisters and brother returned to the Hegins Valley, but Allene stayed and finished her senior year at Kutztown High School, graduating in 1947.

She was a seamstress in area garment factories in Hegins, Valley View, and Wiconisco.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View and attended Lavelle Evangelical Methodist Church, Calvary Chapel EFC, Valley View, and the former Weishample Church of God.

She also a member of the former Valley View Legion Auxiliary.

Allene enjoyed camping, bowling with the Alley Cats, and playing cards in numerous card clubs, playing hymns on her keyboard, and making delicious desserts.

She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth L Shadle, to whom she was married for sixty-five years. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rick K Shadle, two brothers, Arlen Klinger and Larry Snyder, a sister, Treazure Eiffes, and two half sisters, Judy Schneider and Cheryl Macey.

She is survived by two half brothers, Dennis Klinger of Milford, DE and Kerry Klinger of Orwigsburg; a sister, Ruth Goines of Whitehouse, TX; two half sisters, Bonnie Judy of Herndon and Cindy Segal of Pine Grove; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the church.

Burial will be in the Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.

Memorial contributions can be made to Lavelle Evangelical Methodist Church, 2870 Fairground Rd, Ashland PA 17921.
