Shenandoah Man Charged in Theft of Amazon Packages


SHENANDOAH, PA — A Shenandoah man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly stole several Amazon packages containing household and electronic items, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Frackville.
Troopers say the incident occurred on the evening of July 12, 2025, around 9:27 p.m., along West Coal Street in Shenandoah Borough.

The investigation led to the arrest of Franklin Sterner, 39, of Shenandoah, who is accused of stealing multiple delivered packages from a local residence. The items reported stolen include:
  • Brother XM2701 Sewing Machine – $129.99
  • Luxja Sewing Machine Case – $69.99
  • K&F 90" Camera Tripod – $99.99
  • ThinkLearn 20V Cordless Hot Glue Gun – $55.66
  • U-Lace No Tie Shoe Laces – $16.99
The total value of the stolen property was $372.62, police said.

Sterner was charged with the following offenses, filed through Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker's Office.
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking (Misdemeanor 1)
  • Receiving Stolen Property (Misdemeanor 1)
  • Loitering and Prowling at Night Time (Misdemeanor 3)
  • Scattering Rubbish (Summary offense)
