Patrick J. Davie
, 74, a lifelong resident of St. Clair, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. His passing was the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on August 2, 2025.

Patrick was a proud graduate of St. Clair High School and described himself affectionately as "happily retired." In his later years, he remained deeply connected to his community through family, friendships, and the small-town roots he held dear. He was a lifelong member of the St. Clair Fish and Game Club, valuing the traditions it represented.

Even in his passing, Patrick gave the gift of life to others through the donation of his retinas and skin tissue, saving and improving the lives of those in need. His generosity and selflessness will continue to touch lives for years to come.

Patrick is survived by his companion, Barb Hinchey; daughter, Pamela Hashin; two grandchildren; and siblings Dennis, Diane, Edward, Bonnie, and Maureen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Davie; sister, Kathleen Gudinas; and other family members who went before him.

A memorial service honoring Patrick's life will be held at the James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair, on Saturday, September 6th, at 11:00 AM with Deacon John Setlock officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00–11:00 AM at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Interment will follow at St. Casimir's Cemetery in Port Carbon.

If interested, Patrick's family asks that any donations be made to the Gift of Life, Philadelphia, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.

Patrick will be remembered for his warm spirit, his love for his community, and his ability to give to others—even in his final act. James H. Evans Funeral Home, Inc., St. Clair, is entrusted with arrangements.

Francis E. Kenesky
, 73, of Frackville passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 28th.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of Regina (Kurpell) Kenesky and her late husband Albert Kenesky.

Frank was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Viet Nam War. He was a former president of the Whippoorwill South End Field and Stream, Frackville; president of the Hegins Trap Club and the Amateur Trapshooting Association where he won many trophies; he was a member of the Frackville American Legion Post 398 and was of the catholic faith.

Frank enjoyed spending his time trapshooting and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father Albert Kenesky and by his sister Deborah Thomas.

Frank is survived by his mother, Regina Kenesky; his fiancé, Judy Oswald, of Frackville; his nephew, Daniel Thomas and his great-niece, Haley Thomas of Barnesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home,Frackville with Fr. Leo Maletz officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to his visitation on Friday morning at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with military honors will follow at Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown.

Charles Hauser
, 86, of Frackville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 30th with his loving family by his side.

Born in Williamsport, Charlie was a son of the late Charles and Sarah (Eck) Hauser. Before retiring, Charlie was the store manager of the former ACME in Frackville.

Charlie was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville; the Frackville Knights of Columbus; the Frackville and Shenandoah Senior Citizens and was a volunteer for the Frackville Food Bank. Charlie was a longtime driver for the Frackville Community Ambulance Association and enjoyed listening and dancing to the Polkas.

Charlie was also in the United States Army reserves for six years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Gramley and a sister, Joan Campbell.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Ann (Muclada) Hauser, Frackville; his son Charles “Chuck” Hauser and his wife Karen of Berwyn; his daughter, Cheryl Ann Bainbridge and her husband John of Auburn; his six grandchildren: Justin, Ciarra, Cody, Emily, Elizabeth and Evelyn; his great-grandchildren: Nolan, Sariah, Brielle and John; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 8th from St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville (St. Ann’s Church) Friends and relatives are invited to his visitation at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Englewood section of Frackville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in Charlie’s name, to the Frackville Community Ambulance Association at 52 E. Arch Street Frackville, PA 17931 or to St. Joseph the Worker Parish at 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville PA 17931

Bernadine Malinoski
(98 years old) died Thursday (28 August 2025) at the Horsham Center for Jewish Life in Horsham, PA.

Born in Shenandoah on 16 August 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Stabinski) Malinoski.

She was a 1944 graduate from J. W. Cooper High School, and a 1948 graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Nursing, Philadelphia, PA. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Boston College and a doctorate in Public Health Nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

She served her country as a military nurse. She was an Army-Air Corps flight nurse during World War II and transferred to the Air Force during the Korean War. In 1980, she retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. During her tenure, she served as the 69th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Associate. She was awarded the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service in the Air Force Reserve.

She was a member of the Thomas Jefferson Alumni Association and the American Public Health Association. She was the Director of Education and Nursing Servicesin Philadelphia, PA and was part of the public health organization in Maryland.

She taught Public Health Nursing at the University of Michigan and Penn State University. She was also recognized for her many publications she wrote concerning her profession.

She was a member of St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Malinoski, Francis Malinoski and Anthony Malinoski; and sisters Victoria Malinoski, Joan Malinoski, and Grace Mazurkiewicz.

Surviving are sister-in-law Roseanne Malinoski; niece Lynn Malinoski Conlin, her husband Ken and their children Joseph and Brooke; nephews John Malinoski, his wife Laura and their children Zack and Olivia, Gary Malinoski and his wife Krista and their children Julia and Adam, Michael Malinoski and his wife Nicole and their children Ellie and Jed. Also, niece Karen Mazurkiewicz and her family, and nephew Robert Mazurkiewicz and his family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Worship Site- St. Casimir’s and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Interment will follow at St. Casimir’s Cemetery in Shenandoah Heights.

Leo Anthony Malatesta Jr., 88, formerly of Kelayres, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning in the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Born in Kelayres, he was the last living sibling of the late Leo Anthony Sr. and Jennie (Jump) Malatesta.

He attended McAdoo High School and King's College.

He was a United States Navy Veteran Serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of the McAdoo Fire Company and the McAdoo VFW Post 6708.

Leo enjoyed playing golf, watching all sports, and fishing and especially loved his time spent with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a granddaughter Kayla Bahrey, sisters Kathryn Cara, Elaine Holloman, Mary Chaykin, Connie Patton, and Margaret Shulzitski, and brothers Louis, Vincent, John, and Joseph.

Surviving are a daughter Mary Kay Corbett of McAdoo; sons Leo A. III and his wife Linda of Berwick, John of Ashley, and Joseph of Pittston, granddaughters Jessica Bahrey, Heather Condo, and Shianna Corbett; great grandchildren Bentley Merenda, Ryder Condo, Kailani Melici, Stella and Levi Hoffman, and Ophelia Vargas; and several nieces and nephews.

A Service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.
