
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident in which a 2-year-old boy was found standing alone in the middle of Route 209 on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2025.
According to police, the child was spotted by several witnesses near Market Street in Blythe Township around 8:43 a.m. The toddler was reportedly wearing only a wet diaper and standing in the roadway as vehicles traveled through the busy stretch.
Bystanders quickly intervened, removing the child from danger and making contact with his mother. The child was safely returned to his home in Cumbola.
State Police confirmed that Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services has been notified and will be assisting with the case.
Authorities said the investigation into the incident remains active. No further details were released regarding potential charges.
